KUALA LUMPUR: Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, was sentenced to four months jail by the Sessions Court after being found guilty of criminal defamation involving the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

His lawyer, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, said Sessions Court judge Norma Ismail convicted Badrul Hisham under Section 500 of the Penal Code at the end of the defence case.

"The judge ruled that the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt while the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.

"The court, however, allowed the defence's application for stay of execution pending appeal and increased bail by RM5,000 bringing the total to RM15,000.
