KUALA LUMPUR: A 16-year-old boy with alleged links to a secret society was ordered to perform 120 hours of community service within six months after pleading guilty to assaulting two teenagers with an iron rod.

The teen, who cannot be named as he is a minor, was also ordered to attend an interactive workshop within the same period.

The National Legal Aid Foundation, which represented the boy, appealed for leniency, saying he had committed the offences after being mocked.

The foundation said the boy regretted his actions and had no intention of repeating them.
