ARAU: The Perlis government will consider removing the concrete wall of an old jetty in Sungai Padang after a Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) patrol boat struck it two days ago.
Speaking after the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sanglang Port, Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah said the state would assess whether the wall should remain.
He added that the state government would finalise assistance for the widow and family of 41-year-old Leading Seaman (Technical) Mohd Roshaimi Mohd Ridzuan.
"Tonight we will decide how much assistance the state government can channel to the widow and the family of the deceased," he said.
