KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) has proposed action against 18 enterprises over bid-rigging in 30 public tenders worth RM108.3 million.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the tenders involved food supplies, including for schools and public universities, as well as cleaning services.
"The tenders were issued by 12 public sector entities, comprising six ministries, three public universities, two state Islamic religious departments and one statutory body," he told the Dewan Rakyat while winding up the debate on the 2027 Supply Bill.
Armizan said evidence gathered by MyCC included centralised coordination and preparation of tender documents, the exchange of information such as proposed bid prices, and the sharing of finances and manpower among the enterprises involved.
