KUALA LUMPUR: A viral image purportedly showing a sun bear roaming near a residential area in Taman Melawati has been identified as artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content following an investigation by the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan).
Kuala Lumpur and Federal Territories Perhilitan director Ishak Muhamad said officers inspected the location yesterday afternoon and found no evidence of a bear's presence.
"We conducted an investigation yesterday and found that the image was AI-generated.
"The bamboo vegetation in the Desa Melawati area is relatively sparse, unlike what is depicted in the viral image.
