KUALA LUMPUR: Blunt force trauma to the head has been confirmed as the cause of death of a 16-year-old student who was found dead at a school in Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, Johor, on Friday.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar said the finding was confirmed following a post-mortem conducted by a forensic pathologist at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat yesterday.
"The police give its full assurance that the investigation will be conducted in a comprehensive, transparent and professional manner, without any element of a cover-up or protection of any party," he said in a statement today.
Kumar said the investigation was progressing smoothly with full cooperation from the school and Education Ministry.
