KUALA LUMPUR: There is no confirmed date yet for a change in monsoon conditions that could help ease the current haze, with the Department of Environment (DoE) leaving the timing to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
DoE deputy director-general (Development) Azuri Azizah Saedon said Malaysia was currently experiencing the Southwest Monsoon and would soon enter the inter-monsoon period.
However, she said the exact timing could not yet be determined as weather conditions could change.
"I cannot say when because it is subject to change.
"MetMalaysia will issue a statement when the change in monsoon occurs," she said during a media dialogue session.
