BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said PN candidates who win their seats in the Melaka polls will be invited to join the state government.PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional will allocate roles in the Melaka executive council to Perikatan Nasional if their alliance succeeds in winning the Nov 14 state election, says BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid said this aligns with the electoral cooperation agreed by both coalitions, and is similar to the pact they had in Negeri Sembilan, Berita Harian reported.
"We will take the same approach and invite PN representatives who win their seats to be a part of the state government, if we form the government," he said.
The Umno president said both BN and PN have signed a memorandum of understanding for the state polls, with their respective machinery and supporters to be mobilised to support each other's candidates.
