(File pic) (File pic)KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court was told today that the family of political aide Teoh Beng Hock had no excuse for its delay in bringing judicial review proceedings against the police, having known for more than seven years that no murder investigation was opened into his death.
Senior federal counsel Sallehuddin Ali, appearing for the police, said the case was reclassified in 2019 as involving wrongful confinement under Section 342 of the Penal Code, a year after the Pakatan Harapan administration took power.
He said the family previously voiced concerns over the slow pace of the investigation and asked whether the probe papers had been referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).
