KUCHING, Nov 3: Financial constraints and personal struggles did not stop two Sarawak graduates from pursuing academic excellence, with their journeys highlighting the importance of educational support, perseverance, and self-belief.
For Mohd Saifuddin Abdullah of Bintulu, support from Yayasan Sarawak eased his family’s financial burden and motivated him to work harder throughout his university studies.
The Bachelor in Quantity Surveying graduate from the Faculty of Built Environment, who received the Yayasan Sarawak Outstanding Graduate Award 2026, said financial considerations were among his concerns when pursuing higher education, as his family came from a modest-income background.
“Honestly, yes, I did think about finances because I come from a family with a modest income. This assistance helped reduce the burden on my family,” he said.
