AMPANG: A total of 10,033 employers have been identified for failing to register their domestic workers with the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and make the required contributions, including 598 high-profile individuals.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said those identified included VVIPs, Members of Parliament, state assemblymen and individuals holding senior positions in the public and private sectors.

He said Perkeso had also identified 26,669 employers with outstanding contribution records who required further checks and follow-up action.

“One’s position, rank, influence or status is no excuse for neglecting responsibilities as an employer. No one is above the law, which applies to everyone without exception,” he told a press conference after the Nepal Flood Benefits Handover Ceremony here today.
