KUALA LUMPUR: After nearly three decades of touching the hearts of Malaysians, composer Datuk Wah Idris hopes to see Standing in the Eyes of the World given official recognition as a special national song.
The 69-year-old composer believes the piece—made famous by rock icon Ella—holds a unique place in the nation's musical heritage.
He feels it deserves to be played regularly at official state events and government ceremonies.
Wah added that the song has a rare ability to unite Malaysians of all backgrounds while carrying the country's message to the global stage.
