(Bernama pic)SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic religious department (Jais) has called for social media posts about Aliff Daniel Adli to be removed immediately, following his sentencing and declaration of repentance over taking part in a temple ritual at Batu Caves two years ago.

Jais director Shahzihan Ahmad said the recommendation was intended to support the man and his family, who had repented and wished to practise Islam without a digital footprint that portrayed them, the religious authorities, Muslims and Islam in a negative light.

“Let us be charitable towards one another as Muslims, safeguard our fellow Muslims’ dignity, respect each other and work together to raise awareness in an environment that supports the wellbeing of Aliff Daniel, his family and the Muslim community as a whole,” he said in a statement today.
