SINGAPORE, Oct 6 — Eight public officers have been referred to the police following a government review into property purchases made near future MRT station sites before their locations were publicly announced, Singapore’s Public Service Division (PSD) revealed today.

The officers were among 191 individuals whose property transactions were scrutinised after questions emerged over whether civil servants may have benefited from access to confidential information related to rail development plans.

According to CNA, while addressing Parliament, Coordinating Minister for Public Services Chan Chun Sing said the majority of cases reviewed did not raise concerns, but eight transactions required further investigation due to unresolved issues surrounding the purchases.
