PETALING JAYA: The man accused of stabbing his wife six times in Kampung Padang Lepai, Kota Bharu, on Monday has a criminal record of four offences, three of which are drug-related.
Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said the incident was believed to have been triggered by a dispute over divorce proceedings.
"The suspect was reportedly unhappy with his wife’s decision to file for divorce, which allegedly prompted him to stab her repeatedly, inflicting six wounds to her body and neck," he was quoted as saying by Bernama today.
Yusoff said the victim, a 44-year-old nurse, is being treated at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital and is in stable condition.
