Longer lifespans could unlock new sources of economic growth, social participation and innovation as Malaysia moves towards becoming an aged nation, according to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

EPF chairman Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali said longevity should not be viewed solely as a challenge. He made the remarks in a statement on Tuesday (29 September).

The statement was issued in conjunction with the EPF International Social Wellbeing Conference 2026 (ISWC 2026), officiated by Finance Minister II, Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

The two-day conference is jointly organised by EPF and the Ministry of Finance. Its theme is “The Long Horizon”.
