KUALA LUMPUR: Three members of a family were killed while another was seriously injured after their Proton Exora crashed into the back of a 20-tonne lorry in Tanjong Karang today.
The victims were a 44-year-old woman, an eight-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl.
A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred on Jalan Raja Muda Musa heading towards Tanjong Karang at about 1.30pm.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 1.37pm, with a team from the Tanjong Karang Fire and Rescue Station arriving at the scene 20 minutes later.
"The operation commander reported that four victims were trapped in the vehicle and firefighters carried out rescue work to extricate them.
