PETALING JAYA: Police arrested 14 people, including 13 secondary school students, for allegedly rioting with weapons at a playground in Tawau, Sabah, two days ago.

Tawau police chief Rosdi Mat Jusoh said the suspects aged 12 to 14 were arrested yesterday before being released on bail, Berita Harian reported.

He added that the other suspect besides the 13 students was a 14-year-old who lacked identification documents and was not attending school.

"Preliminary investigations found that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between two students, which escalated into a fight that later involved the other students.
