Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said many entrepreneurs had quality products but struggled to obtain halal certification and reach wider markets.

PETALING JAYA: The government will offer matching grants of up to RM5,000 to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking halal certification for the first time.

Under the 2027 budget, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said grants of RM25,000 will also be provided to strengthen halal MSMEs in sectors such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

“Many of our entrepreneurs have quality products but struggle to obtain halal certification and access wider markets,” he said when tabling the supply bill in the Dewan Rakyat today.
