KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has downplayed Lee Chean Chung’s imminent resignation from the party, saying he has been an inactive member.
Anwar said Lee, who announced his resignation as the Petaling Jaya MP today following his three-year suspension from PKR, has not attended party meetings for a year or shown up for the party congress in August.
“If he is no longer interested (in the party), it is not a problem. We part ways on good terms.
“I want to thank him for his contributions,” Anwar, who is also the prime minister, told reporters after visiting the air force quarters in Sungai Besi.
