MUKAH, Oct 2: The RM243.98 million Basong Water Treatment Plant Phase 3 Construction Project has reached 15.1 per cent progress, which is 14.3 percentage points ahead of schedule.

In a TVS news report, Sarawak Minister for Utilities and Telecommunications Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi said the project, which began in September 2025, is expected to be completed by September 2028.

“This means the project is progressing slightly ahead of the original schedule. We will also continue to monitor it from time to time,” he said after visiting the Basong Water Treatment Plant here today.

He said the project, fully funded by the Sarawak government, involves constructing a new water treatment plant with a capacity of 60 million litres per day (MLD), as well as installing an 18-kilometre raw water pipeline with a diameter of 1,000mm.
