(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Demands by Sabah and Sarawak for the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to be fulfilled should not automatically be labelled as separatist movements, says former Sabah chief minister Salleh Said Keruak.

Salleh, who is also the Sabah Umno treasurer, said the demands to fulfill MA63 by the two states should be understood in the context of the historical foundations of the Malaysian federation.

He said the concerns of Sabah and Sarawak included constitutional rights, regional representation, resource sharing, and political autonomy, going beyond identity politics alone.
