Former Melaka Bersatu Youth chief Jefri Safry said Wawasan offers him a new platform to pursue a political struggle focused on Muslim unity, social harmony, and public welfare. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Melaka Bersatu Youth chief Jefri Safry has quit the party to join Wawasan after citing a loss of confidence in the party's direction and leadership.
Jefri, who was also the Jasin Bersatu division chief, said his decision stemmed from differences with the party’s top leadership, particularly over rumours of possible political cooperation between Bersatu and Pakatan Harapan, Harian Metro reported.
He said political struggles should be guided by principles, sincerity, and the interests of the people, rather than power struggles or narrow political interests.
