KUCHING, Oct 20: The Ministry of Youth and Sports continues to advance a holistic athlete development approach by providing tertiary education pathways for outstanding athletes.
Its Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the Sarawak government recognises that an athlete is not defined solely by his or her sporting performance.
Their welfare, education, career development and future employability are equally important.
“We want our young athletes to have confidence that pursuing excellence in sport does not mean sacrificing their education or future career prospects.
