Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir has urged the public not to bully Universiti Malaya student Ummi Umairah Bakhit over her criticism of a fund aimed at securing the release of incarcerated former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Zambry said the student had faced intimidation, verbal abuse and threats following a question she raised during the iFuture programme, stressing that the government had no intention of taking action against her.

He said the programme was organised to nurture leadership among Malaysian university students, including those involved in leadership activities at the international level.
