SEPANG: Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen believes he is in a strong position to end his winless run this season after securing pole position for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here today.
The Dutchman said claiming his first pole of the season was a significant achievement considering Red Bull's challenging start to the season and the difficulties he had faced in qualifying round at several races.
"Finally to get it (pole position) it's pretty incredible," he said after the race.
He added that converting pole position into his first victory of the season remains his main objective.
"I'm happy with today and for sure I'm going to try to win tomorrow. I mean when you start first, uh, that's the target," he said.
