Across Sarawak, the signs of economic ambition are increasingly difficult to miss. Roads stretch into once-isolated communities, bridges span major rivers, digital growth reaches far and wide across generations, industrial sites take shape alongside new energy and tech projects that have the potential to reshape the State’s economic future.
At the heart of this transformation is the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), a reengineered development blueprint spearheaded by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari. Shaped by the need to prepare for future scenarios, the strategy seeks to propel Sarawak towards high-income, developed status.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), in 2025, Sarawak’s GDP expanded by another 3.6 per cent to RM153.5 billion, with its GDP per capita reaching RM73,757, above Malaysia’s RM59,167.
