KUALA LUMPUR: A study on rubber city network collaboration under the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) is underway to strengthen ties between producers and suppliers while expanding Kedah Rubber City's (KRC) global market reach.
Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shahar Abdullah said the study, conducted under the Working Group on Trade Investment Facilitation (WGTI), will assess shared challenges faced by rubber cities in the three nations.
He said the study will also analyse global rubber price fluctuations, technology gaps, and differences in quality standards among the three countries.
"Most importantly, we must strengthen the alignment of quality standards among these three countries to ensure that the integration of downstream products yields high value," he said during the oral question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
