MACC's recommendations come after remarks by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in July that Felda was facing losses of nearly RM10 billion because of mismanagement and excessive political interference.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has proposed governance improvements for Felda and two of its subsidiaries to strengthen the management of two projects.

MACC said the recommendations were put forward by its governance investigation division (MACC BPT) on Monday to improve the implementation of an agro park project and a cattle trading pilot project.

Among the recommendations for Felda is the restructuring of FIC Integrated Property Management's (FIC IPM) role as an independent advisory panel to ensure that all views and advice provided are objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.
