(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister Mustapha Sakmud has dismissed as “unfounded” claims that road projects in rural East Malaysia have been shelved by the federal government.
Mustapha said such projects were merely on hold because the issuance of acceptance letters had been deferred to prevent arrears from accumulating.
“Postponing the issuance of (the ketters) should not be equated with cancelling an approved project,” he said in a statement.
He said claims that Sabah and Sarawak were victims of cancelled projects should not be based on assumptions.
