KUALA LUMPUR: Umno wants the government, particularly the Finance Ministry, to withdraw its directive to cancel rural development projects that benefit the people, especially in Sabah and Sarawak
Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said these include rural development projects involving roads, water supply and electricity.
He said the matter was discussed at length during an Umno supreme council meeting today.
"Umno representatives from Sabah expressed concern over the growing unease among the people of Sabah and Sarawak following revelations that several rural development projects in the two states had either been cancelled or postponed.
