The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled that Adam Tan and Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh had failed to raise reasonable doubt over the prosecution’s case.KUALA LUMPUR: A former fisherman and his Vietnamese girlfriend were sentenced to 30 years' jail each by the High Court here today for trafficking in 172.7kg of methamphetamine four years ago.
Justice Nurulhuda Nur' Aini Mohamad Nor ruled that Adam Tan and Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh had failed to raise reasonable doubt about the prosecution’s case.
“The full grounds of judgment will be ready next week,” she said.
Tan and Nguyen were found guilty of trafficking in 172.7kg of methamphetamine at an apartment in Bukit Jalil on Feb 24, 2022.
