Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the government is working on registering Rohingya refugees across the country under the refugee registration document programme, or DPP.PETALING JAYA: The government is considering restricting the movement of Rohingya refugees in Malaysia, says deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Zahid said Putrajaya is studying whether implementing such a measure on the Rohingya would be suitable, taking into account factors like security, national sovereignty, and human rights.

"The National Security Council (MKN) is working with all relevant ministries, departments and agencies as well as local authorities in conducting engagements to obtain feedback and plan the appropriate action to coordinate issues involving this community in Malaysia," he said.
