(Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: Melaka Wanita Umno chief Kalsom Noordin has denied voluntarily making way for a new Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in Pengkalan Batu for the upcoming state election.

Kalsom, a state executive council member, said she was never consulted on the matter and there were no discussions about making way for another BN candidate.

She said the matter should not be portrayed as a voluntary handover or a passing of the baton to Siti Aisyah Mahmood.

"There were no discussions with me. I was very occupied with my exco duties. I have done my work and performed well, so I assumed that I would be contesting," she told FMT.
