(Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: An aide to Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg is believed to be the Progressive Democratic Party's candidate for the Bawang Assan seat at the impending state polls.
Bawang Assan had been represented by Wong Soon Koh for seven terms. Wong was formerly with Sarawak United Peoples' Party, but is now PDP's senior vice-president. The two parties are currently locking horns over Bawang Assan.
It is understood that Wong and PDP president Tiong King Sing met with Abang Johari, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak chairman, on the matter last week, the Borneo Post reported.
In July, it was reported that SUPP would nominate Kevin Lau, a branch youth leader, as the party’s candidate for the Bawang Assan seat at the next state polls.
