SHAH ALAM: A former GISB Holdings (GISBH) chief executive officer facing 77 money laundering charges has applied for the temporary release of his passport to travel to Makkah to be with his pregnant wife.
Lawyer Datuk Rosli Kamaruddin, representing Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, told the Sessions Court that his client, 67, wanted to accompany his fourth wife, Ummu Mubaroqah Ashaari, 32.
She is scheduled to undergo a caesarean section at the Muhammad Saleh Basharahil Hospital in Makkah in a few days.
Rosli said the hospital had advised that her husband be present to give consent for the surgery, which is expected to take place around Oct 8 or 9.
"Nasiruddin previously secured the temporary release of his passport to perform the haj."
