KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister Mustapha Sakmud has proposed setting up a special committee under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) council to work out the mechanism to increase Sabah and Sarawak's parliamentary seats.

Mustapha proposed that the special committee be co-chaired by him and law and institutional reform minister Azalina Othman Said.

“The increase in the number of MPs from Sabah and Sarawak has been included in the agenda of the MA63 council and its technical committee meetings, and has also been discussed extensively at Cabinet meetings.
