PETALING JAYA: A 21-year-old motorcyclist was charged in the Kuala Lumpur traffic sessions court today over a crash that injured two participants in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2026 on Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief Zamzuri Isa said the accused faced two charges under Section 44(1A)(b) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence.

If found guilty, he can be jailed for between seven and 10 years, and fined between RM30,000 and RM50,000.

The court allowed bail of RM5,000 for each charge. However, the accused was believed to have failed to raise bail and was ordered to be sent to the satellite prison in Kuala Kubu Bharu.
