KUALA LUMPUR: An opposition MP today urged the public not to discriminate against refugees because of one bad apple.
Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (PN-Pengkalan Chepa) said refugees who break the law should be investigated and brought to court.
"But we shouldn’t punish an entire community because of one man’s actions. A community should not bear the burden of one man’s sins," he said when debating a parliamentary select committee report on refugee management in Malaysia.
The PAS man said he was against xenophobia as much as he was against crimes committed by refugees.
