SEPANG: After a two-month injury lay-off, youngster Qabil Irfan Azlan made a sensational return to racing by winning race one of the Moto4 Asia Cup at the Sepang Circuit today.

Qabil crossed the finish line first in 27 minutes and 45.895s after fending off Indonesia's Bintang Pranata, who was just 0.166s adrift.

Qayyim Razali (+0.222s) made it a 1-3 finish for Malaysia on home soil.

Qabil suffered fractures to his left tibia and fibula during a crash in the Moto4 European Cup in Valencia earlier in September.
