KUALA LUMPUR: A woman trapped inside a Mini Cooper was rescued by firefighters after two cars became stranded in floodwaters outside a fire station in Kuala Lumpur following heavy rain today.

The onset of the monsoon season typically brings heavy rain to parts of the country.

The incident was among several reported across the Klang Valley, including a landslide in Shah Alam and a fallen tree that damaged a car in Batu Arang.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 3.30pm and sent six personnel to the scene outside the Pantai Fire and Rescue Station along Jalan Pantai Baharu.
