KUALA LUMPUR: A warehouse worker pleaded not guilty in the magistrate's court here to two charges of riding a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol and injuring two participants in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2026.
Muhammad Saiful Sabinee, 21, was accused of riding against the flow of traffic with 184 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood before hitting Mazni Lamin, 50, and Azwan Ibrahim, 41.
The alleged incident took place at Jalan Munshi at 6.14am on Oct 3.
He was charged under Section 44(1A)(b) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a jail term of between seven and 10 years and a fine of up to RM50,000 upon conviction.
The provision also allows the court to disqualify an offender from holding or obtaining a driving licence for at least seven years from the date of conviction.
