The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has opened an investigation into the Facebook account “Vikke Lee” for allegedly uploading extremely offensive content targeting the Sultan of Selangor and touching on 3R sensitivities.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has opened an investigation into content uploaded via the Facebook account “Vikke Lee”, which is suspected of containing extremely offensive elements against the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
In a statement today, MCMC said the content also touched on sensitivities involving race, religion and the royal institution.
MCMC said the statement of the individual concerned had been recorded at the Sri Petaling Police Station to assist in the investigation.
