Jelutong MP RSN Rayer acknowledged that e-Jamin had made it easier for family members to post bail compared with the previous system, but said concerns arose when large sums were involved.

PETALING JAYA: An MP has called for authorities to investigate those behind Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd, following findings by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that it had operated the e-Jamin bail system at 192 courts nationwide for five years without a formal government contract.

RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) said the identities and backgrounds of those with significant influence over the company’s operations should be disclosed to Parliament.

He questioned how Dapat Vista came to handle hundreds of millions of ringgit in bail deposits, and whether the authorities had looked into the company’s background, capabilities and experience.
