KUALA LUMPUR: The government should explain the status of RM193.71 million in court bail funds held in a private company's bank account instead of being transferred to the Consolidated Trust Account, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru) said.
He said the funds remained in the bank account of e-Jamin operator Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd as at Dec 31, 2020.
"This is not a small amount. The question is, why has this still not been resolved after five years?
"Who was responsible for ensuring that the money was transferred, and what is its current status?" he told the Dewan Rakyat today.
Takiyuddin was debating the Public Accounts Committee's (PAC) report on the management of court bail money through the e-Jamin system under the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court.
