De Miguel, 30, died following a sickening collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono during a second division match on Monday.

Around 400 mourners, most dressed in traditional black, gathered outside the church in the village of Navahermosa, around 100 kilometres (62 miles) southwest of Madrid, to greet the funeral cortege.

They included De la Fuente and Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez.
