Close to 1,200 remain at flood relief centres in Selangor, Perak

(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Close to 1,200 flood victims are taking shelter at relief centres in Selangor and Perak, where more rain and thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and tonight.

In Selangor, 763 victims from 216 families were still housed at seven relief centres in Kuala Selangor, Shah Alam and Klang as of 8am.

According to the social welfare department’s (JKM) InfoBencana portal, four relief centres remained open in Kuala Selangor - SK Parit Mahang (housing 291 victims from 81 families); SK Dato’ Maharaja Lela (211 victims from 65 families); Sekolah Agama Batu 8 Ijok (73 victims from 20 families) and SK Jaya Setia (71 victims from 21 families).
