The ministry said it is waiting for laboratory results on the product and will inspect the factory regarding its compliance with the Food Act.

"Enforcement action will be taken if there is any breach of food safety," it said in a statement today.

The ministry said it sought an explanation from Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd regarding the food poisoning allegations.
