KUALA LUMPUR: Ten former Negri Sembilan state executive councillors have filed an originating summons at the Seremban High Court challenging the validity of a gazette revoking their appointments.

Their lawyers, Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak, said in a statement that the suit was filed on Oct 5 against the state secretary and the state government.

The former councillors are challenging the validity of a Sept 24 state government gazette concerning the revocation of their appointments as members of the state executive council.

The law firm said the former councillors were seeking, among other things, a declaration on whether the gazette issued by the state secretary was valid and enforceable.
