KUALA LUMPUR: Three former Negri Sembilan Undangs and the serving Undang of Johol today withdrew their judicial review application seeking to compel the state menteri besar to sign a proclamation concerning the removal of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

High Court judge Norliza Othman allowed the withdrawal without liberty for the applicants to file afresh and ordered them to pay RM40,000 in costs to four proposed interveners.

The applicants' lawyer, Mohd Khairul Azam Aziz, told the court that the four were withdrawing the application as the matter had become academic after the Negri Sembilan menteri besar executed the proclamation dated Aug 3.

The applicants had sought to withdraw the application with no order as to costs.
